Not every tattoo can be covered well in one pass. Heavy black areas, scarring, or large dense pieces sometimes need a few sessions of laser lightening before the new design will read clearly. Sam will tell you upfront — at the free consultation — what's realistic for your specific tattoo.
A great cover-up uses larger, darker, more complex shapes to disguise the old design's edges. Florals, lions, religious imagery, dark realism, and dense black & grey compositions all work well. Sam sketches a custom design built around your tattoo's existing silhouette so the original disappears into the new piece.
